New Guy

From: Kristoffer Buquet (KBuquet@ApertureFoto.com) | Date: 2002-07-18 12:24:46 UTC-04:00
Hello everyone,

New guy here. My name is Kris Buquet , 25 yrs old, live in MD and
I am completely new to the whole LetterBoxing world. I got spun on
to it by an article in the WashingtonPost a week or two ago. I
have't set out on any searches yet..still carving my stamp :-) Are
there any other LB's out there in the MD, VA, DC area on the list?
Also, I will be in Manhattan on Sunday afternoon if anyone out
there on the list is from that area. Maybe we could get together
for drinks, Coffee, etc...

I look forward to interacting with you all and look forward to
making new friends to stroll through the great outdoors with.

P.S: Still can't commit to a good "Nom de plume", anyone out there
want to help me out. I have a few in mind, however don't want to
pick just yet in case someone else out that has already "claimed"
that "nom de plume".

Thanks,

Kristoffer J Buquet

Hi Kris-

Welcome to letterboxing!I'm in Norfolk. I just started letterboxing myself last week. So far my son and I have found 2 local boxes in the Norfolk area. What does your stamp look like? I guess my first thoughts as a nom de plume would be something to do with your profession- Photoguy, Fotokris, krisphoto, i take pics- something like that. Looked at your linked site- nice shots.  Let me know if you ever plan to be in this area, there are a lot of boxes set out here.

Welcome NewBe1 to mid-atlantic letterboxing. There are quite a
number of us in the region. Two years ago, quite by fortunate
accident, I stumbled on my first letterbox clues while surfing the
net for things to do in Jamestown, RI on vacation. I've been hooked
ever since. Of course RI, along with CT are still letterboxing
heaven, but VA, MD, DC, PA and now NC have sure come a long way.

I guess it's time for the long overdue mid-atlantic letterboxing
gathering....maybe early fall?

What say some of you mid-atlantic boxers, should we try to make a go
of it this time?

P.S. You may not find a letterbox in Manhattan, but you sure won't
have any trouble finding a cannoli!

If you get your stamp done by Sunday - there are at least two boxes
within sight of Manhattan, on the Jersey side. Both are listed
under "Mystery", so put on your thinking cap and start your research.
